Power inductors are often used as an inductor. What are the main characteristics of a power inductor?
There are 6 major factors in the power inductance.
1. The main performance parameters of the power inductor are the inductance L, the DC resistance DCR, the DC overlap current Isat, the Wen Shengxu capacitance current Irms and the self harmonic frequency SRF.
2, inductance is the nominal value of inductance. Due to the existence of permeability and distributed capacitance, the inductance will change with the frequency change. The accuracy of inductor is generally M (+ 20%) or N (+ 30%).
3. The DC resistance DCR refers to the total DC resistance of the enameled wire used between the product electrodes.
4, the DC overlap current Isat means that the inductance of the inductor will decrease when the inductor is continuously connected with the DC current. The current specification is usually set down according to the current value of 30%.
5, the temperature rise allowable capacitance current Irms means that the temperature of the surface of the inductor will rise when the inductor is continuously connected with a direct current. The standard is usually set according to the current value when the temperature rises 40 degrees.
6, the self harmonic frequency SRF means that the inductance achieves resonance at a certain frequency due to the interaction between the inductor and the inductor's own distributed capacitance. The resonant frequency is the self resonant frequency of the inductor, and the power inductor needs to be used below the self harmonic frequency.
